The Rationale magazine is an online publication by the Rationalist Society of Australia. It was established in 2021. Prior to that, we published The Australian Rationalist journal in hardcopy format.
Established in 1906, the Rationalist Society of Australia is the nation’s oldest freethought group. Among other key purposes, it aims to propound and advance Rationalism, stimulate freedom of thought, promote inquiry into religious and other superstitious beliefs and practices, and encourage interest in science, criticism, history and philosophy. Through the Rationale magazine, we continue this mission.
